Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) and its subsidiaries understand the importance of protecting the information we maintain. Regrettably, we identified and addressed an email incident involving unauthorized access to two employee email accounts, one at BBNC and one at a subsidiary. Both accounts have been secured and BBNC worked with a third-party cybersecurity firm to conduct a thorough review.

In both cases, the evidence suggests that these were attempts to induce fraudulent invoice payments and not to access personal information. However, individuals whose name and personal identifiable information was contained within the email accounts were sent a letter notifying them of this incident and that their personal identifiable information may have been exposed.

We regret any inconvenience or concern this incident may cause you. BBNC is implementing new technical enhancements, as well as additional employee training, to help prevent future incidents.

If you or any shareholders you have contact with have questions about the incident, please direct them to call 833-637-2102 toll-free Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Central (5:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time), or Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Central (7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time) (excluding major U.S. holidays).
