BBNC and Chignik Intertribal Coalition (CIC) are looking for a summer intern from June 5 – August 14, 2024, in the Chignik region! BBNC shareholders, spouses, and descendants that are 18 years or older, highly motivated, and seeking to advance their knowledge and skills are encouraged to apply. This internship consists of the three components below:

Chignik Science Symposium: June 6-10

Learning Objectives:

• Community needs
• Partnerships
• Planning
• Implementation

Data Collection: June 15 – August 5

Learning Objectives:

• Tissue samples
• Environmental DNA

Field Course for Teachers – Alaska Coastal Dynamics: July 21 – August 5

Learning Objectives:

• Engage with University of Alaska Fairbanks faculty
• Get acquainted with data collection tools
• Tow net with FRI crew
